Unlocking Digitalization in Forest Operations with Viewshed Analysis to Improve GNSS Positioning Accuracy

چکیده

This study evaluated the positioning accuracy of moving forest harvesters using global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals under a canopy, and developed approaches for forecasting mature spruce canopy cover. Real-time kinematic with Trimble R12 receiver on top harvester achieved high accuracy, 86% observations meeting maximum precision 8 mm. However, presence cover hampered GNSS’s performance as there were fewer satellites available, leading to an increased number inaccurate positions larger values dilution in geometry (GDOP), position (PDOP), vertical (VDOP) horizontal directions (HDOP). The estimated from viewshed analysis digital surface model (DSM) was found be significant predictor deviation true position. These findings suggest that provides more precise results than mere percentage evaluating impact harvester, despite its computational demands. Developing intelligent algorithms can facilitate autonomous harvesting forwarding, allowing implementation digitalization operations.

Millimetre Level Accuracy GNSS Positioning with the Blind Adaptive Beamforming Method in Interference Environments

The use of antenna arrays in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) applications is gaining significant attention due to its superior capability to suppress both narrowband and wideband interference. However, the phase distortions resulting from array processing may limit the applicability of these methods for high precision applications using carrier phase based positioning techniques. This...

Enhancing GNSS Positioning with 3D Mapping

The number of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) signals that can be received in dense urban areas has increased through the availability of multiple satellite constellations and high sensitivity receivers. However, in these constrained environments, the blockage and reflection of many of the signals by buildings and other obstacles means that poor positioning accuracy remains a problem...

GNSS in Precision Agricultural Operations

Today, there are two Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) that are fully operational and commercially available to provide all-weather guidance virtually 24 h a day anywhere on the surface of the earth. GNSS are the collection of localization systems that use satellites to know the location of a user receiver in a global (Earth-centered) coordinate system and this has become the positioni...

Gnss Network Real Time Positioning: Testing Procedure to Evaluate the Accuracy of a Geodetic Moving Antenna

Academia, Industry and Government are investigating the reliability to use the real time kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) techniques for centimetre level positioning of many existing and emerging applications. These include for instance mobile mapping and airborne laser scanning systems. The classical RTK methodology allows for an operational distance between the refere...

Cramér-Rao bound analysis of positioning approaches in GNSS receivers

Recently, Direct Position Estimation (DPE) has arisen as a potential approach to deal with the positioning problem in Global Navigation Satellite System receivers. The conventional navigation solution is obtained in two steps: synchronization parameters are estimated and then a trilateration procedure is in charge of computing user’s position, based on those parameters. In contrast, DPE estimat...
